A bridge over water

Unreal

The world doesn’t exist for me.

A while ago I sat outside in the rain

The sky was gray,

The world was green,

And everything stood still.

I don’t think I was supposed to see it.

Then again it wasn’t hidden,

It was a show nature put on just for itself.

Not for others

Not for me

Not to show off

Only because it needed to.

Because nature isn’t thinking about how it’s perceived,

It just is.

This moment felt fake.

The cathartic release of energy

Was so strong, so intense

But also not exaggerated or romanticized

It was just real.

Funny how something so real felt so fake

How is it that we are so far gone,

To the point where,

We can’t process reality

Something so real,

That we can’t see it.

Something so true,

Yet we can’t feel it.

The world is so sure of itself.

The rock we’re on,

The trees that grow out of it,

The sky,

The wind,

The clouds,

The rain,

Exist simultaneously.

Without anyone’s permission.

Feeding into each other,

Each part, each phase,

Necessary for the survival of everything else.
